Rain holds off a little longer as overnight temps dip into 50s

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening and happy Mother’s Day! As we close out the special day and head into a new week, we are expecting more incredible weather this evening before clouds return on Monday. Along with the increasing clouds, showers and storms return on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with the humidity. Additional wet weather is possible at the end of the week as well with another storm system.

As for tonight and Monday, mostly clear skies are again expected, and, combined with the low humidity, low temperatures will again dip down into the low to mid-50s. On Monday, clouds will be on the increase throughout the day, but we will stay dry with highs around the 80-degree mark.

On Tuesday, we are expecting scattered showers and storms to push into the region thanks to an area of low pressure moving through the southeast. Temperatures will stay on the cooler side Tuesday with highs in the low 70s, but the humidity will return to the Carolinas. The scattered wet weather could also linger through the day on Wednesday before moving out.

After warmer and drier weather for Thursday with highs in the low 80s, showers and storms return Friday afternoon and will continue into Saturday. Highs on Friday will be in the mid- to upper 70s, with mid-80s possible on Saturday with clearing skies in the afternoon. Dry weather is expected for next Sunday.

In the meantime, enjoy the tranquil weather on the way this evening! Have a great start to the week!
