Railroad work shut down US 281 in Pratt for several days

PRATT, Kan. (KSNW) — If you are trying to reach the north side of Pratt via U.S. Highway 281, starting Sunday, you’ll face a detour.

Union Pacific will be doing maintenance on the railroad crossing on U.S. 281 in the city of Pratt.

Work to begin on US 54/400 in Kingman County

It is scheduled to begin sometime Sunday and is expected to take four to five days to complete.

Traffic will need to use Simpson, Logan, and Mound Streets to the east to access U.S. 281.

The City of Pratt says they, along with the Kansas Department of Transportation, were only notified of the maintenance work Wednesday afternoon.
