PSP: Motorcyclist identified, charged after going 150 MPH during chase in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Pennsylvania State Police have identified and charged a motorcyclist who led them on a high speed chase in Adams County in April.

Security footage from Sheetz and tipsters helped Troopers identify Jeremy Perez, 33, of Gettysburg, as the motorcyclist, State Police at Gettysburg wrote in a criminal complaint.

State Police spotted two motorcyclists traveling on Route 15 going at least 100 mph in a 65 mph posted zone and tried to pull them over on April 14. The one motorcyclist, pulled over, but Perez, who was riding a 2018 white Yamaha R6, took off and Troopers followed.

During the chase, State Police say Perez reached speeds going over 150 mph and he was using the road shoulder to pass vehicles and was swerving erratically. Eventually, Troopers stopped pursuing due to safety concerns.

The motorcyclist who State Police pulled over said they just left the Sheetz along Camp Letterman Drive, which is where State Police then got security footage from and on it saw Perez buy a White Claw then get on his bike head off from the gas station. Perez was seen flipping his helmet visor up on one camera angle which Troopers said showed it was him.

According to the criminal complaint, anonymous tips came through which were able to help State Police identify the fleeing motorcyclist as Perez. State Police say they learned Perez hid the bike because police were looking for him.

It was noted in the criminal complaint Perez has an extensive criminal history out of Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania, plus he has warrants for his arrest in Baltimore.

Perez faces felony charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officer and flight to avoid apprehension/trial/punishment along with summary charges of traffic violations.
