PPD: Man arrested for robbery at local bar and grill
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection to a robbery.
It happened Sunday, April 14, just before 10 p.m. at a local bar and grill on Chowan Drive. Upon arrival, the victim told officers they got into a fight with a man who tried to rob them at gunpoint. The victim also told officers the suspect stole their key fob.
Within 50 minutes, police were able to take the suspect, Eddie Fountaine Hunter Jr., into custody on the 2000 block of Elmhurst Lane.
Hunter has been charged with robbery, use of firearm and firearm possession by a felon.
