Power lines downed in crash on Cove Road NW in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)– The Roanoke Police Department reports a vehicle crashed into two electric poles on Cove Road NW early Sunday morning.

Police say the crash involved only one vehicle and left the downed power lines across the roadway. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was medically examined on scene by Roanoke Fire-EMS.

RPD reports charges are pending following the outcome of the investigation.

Police closed down all lanes of traffic on Cove Road NW from Hershberger Road NW to Barrington Drive NW to allow crews to assess damages and make repairs. Police say the road has since been reopened.
