Poll shows Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ Arkansas approval rating steadily decreasing

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A poll released early Monday shows Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ popularity with voters steadily decreasing.

The April report by Morning Consult shows Sanders’ approval rating is now 56%, compared to 61% when she first took office. At the same time, her disapproval rating is 35%, up from 27% when she began her term.

The poll authors noted that Sanders’ approval rating among GOP voters has been down 12 points since she took office. She still commands an 81% approval rating in that group, the eighth highest among GOP voters with a GOP governor.

Among Democrats, Sanders holds 30% approval and 65% disapproval, while among independents, she holds 41% approval and 43% disapproval. With independents, January was the first time she had fallen below 50% approval rating with that group.

According to Morning Consult, the poll surveyed 2.567 registered voters in April to arrive at its figures.

A survey of U.S. Senate office holders by Morning Consult found Sen. John Boozman (R-AR) with a 49% approval rating and a 31% disapproval, and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) with 51% approval and 33% disapproval.

Morning Consult used at least 621 registered voters from each state in order to determine attitudes toward senators.
