Police: Student found with gun at Kalamazoo Central High School

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A student was found with a loaded gun at Kalamazoo Central High School Monday, police say.

No one was hurt.

The Kalamazoo Township police department says it was called to the school on N. Drake Road near Grand Prairie Road around 2 p.m. when school staff learned the student may have a gun.

Officers soon found the student did have a loaded gun. It had been stolen, police say.

The student, a 16-year-old, was taken to the county juvenile home and could face charges for carrying a concealed weapon, violating a weapons-free zone and receiving and concealing stolen property.
