44-year-old Jose Alejandro “Alex” Perez was last seen wearing a pink shirt, black sweatpants and black and white slide type sandals. He is described as 6’1, 200 pounds with brown graying hair and brown eyes.

Tyler PD said his mother was the last to see him at Towne Oaks Apartments off of Bullard Road in Tyler. People in Perez’s life noticed his absence as he starting missing appointments with no contact.

“So that was a big clue, that he’s a pretty scheduled person and that it was not like him,” Tyler Police Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh said.

Officers discovered his vehicle on Monday at Autumn Glen apartments in Tyler. It’s about a mile-and-a-half from his last known spot.

“Just a couple of days later we knew had left in a 2016 white Hyundai Sonata a couple of days we had located the Sonata at 5207 Holly Tree, the apartment complex there but we did not locate him,” Erbaugh said.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call Tyler police at 903-531-1000.

“It’s concerning when somebody who’s 44 years old just goes missing. But, hopefully, he sees this and hopefully, he’ll contact us,” Erbaugh said.

So far, there is no evidence of foul play or connection to other missing person cases in Tyler, Erbaugh said.

“He has missed some of the appointments he has some of the things he normally does, some of the things his family knows he normally does, employers, things like that he was just missing those things,” Erbaugh said.
