Police searching for car in Geneva arson investigation

GENEVA, Ala (WDHN) — Geneva Police are searching for a car and its owner, who police say could have information about an arson that destroyed one home and damaged another.

In the early morning of Monday, April 8, Geneva Police and Fire Department rushed to the 1200 block of Pine Street on reports of a house fire.

After an investigation, Geneva Police determined the fire was intentionally set.

Geneva Police Chief Pepper Mock tells WDHN the car shown in the picture below may belong to someone who has valuable information that may help their investigation.

“There is no reason to believe this person is a suspect. However, there is a chance he or she could have information pertinent to the case,” said Chief Mock in a release to WDHN. “The car was seen driving through a nearby McDonald’s parking lot at the time of the fire.”

According to Chief Mock, the fire was set by a burglar who they believe intentionally targeted the house.
