Police search for suspects who stole $1K of copper wire from Petaluma store

(KRON) — Two people who allegedly walked out of a North Bay home improvement store with four large spools of copper wire are wanted by the Petaluma Police Department. The grand theft occurred one week ago on March 14 at 5:51 p.m., police said in a community alert on Thursday.

Petaluma investigators said a white man and a white woman entered Friedman’s Home Improvement Center and then grabbed four spools of copper wire before walking out without paying. The duo fled the area in a maroon-colored sedan, police said.

The four spools of wire were worth approximately $1,100, according to Petaluma PD. Police released a photo of the grand theft suspects inside the store at 429 N. McDowell Boulevard.

Earlier this week, the Petaluma Police Department released information on a separate theft that occurred at the same time at the same home improvement store. In that incident, two suspects allegedly stole $1,500 worth of merchandise before fleeing in a red hatchback. Police did not say if there was a connection between the simultaneous thefts.
