Police investigating nonfatal shooting in Hartford

A man is recovering in a local hospital after being shot in Hartford early Wednesday.

The victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds after officers responded to Westland Street at 12:44 a.m. upon receiving a ShotSpotter notification, according to a statement issued by Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

Boisvert said the victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to an area hospital for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crimes Scene Divisions responded to investigate.
