Police identify 87-year-old man killed in Bethany Beach crash

Delaware State Police have identified the 87-year-old man killed in a crash near Bethany Beach last week.

Around 7 p.m. April 19, John Medaris of Rehoboth Beach was driving a Jaguar F-type south on Coastal Highway, south of Dune Road, behind a pickup truck pulling a trailer. "For reasons under investigation," Medaris "lost control" and hit the trailer, police said, which disconnected from the truck and overturned.

The driver and passenger of the truck were uninjured. Medaris was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said, which he died from April 21.
