WEATHERLY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Carbon County police report an office helped rescue a mother duck and her ducklings from a storm drain.

On Tuesday, Weatherly Police were called for a traffic problem in the area of Hudsondale Street due to several ducklings and the mother duck stranded in the roadway.

According to police, Eyer was able to get the two remaining ducklings out of the street along with the mother while traffic passed then escorted them across the roadway to the safety of the stream.

Chief Brian Markovchick arrived on the scene to help Officer Eyer remove the drain grate only to find that the ducklings were no longer in the drain.

Officer Eyer then walked the stream bank to locate the pipe exit and ensured all the ducklings were reunited with their mother unharmed, officers reported.
