Places to return unneeded medication in WKRG News 5 coverage area

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — April 27 is the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Drug Takeback Day in an effort to address the drug overdose epidemic in the United States.

The DEA’s law enforcement partners will host their next takeback from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a news release from DEA’s New Orleans Division, which covers Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

To encourage “the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting,” many agencies and organizations help out by offering locations where people can drop off unneeded medication.
