Placer County cities ranked among safest in California

(FOX40.COM) — Two cities in Placer County have ranked amongst the top 10 safest cities in California, according to a report from Safewise.

The security company compiled its list by using 2022 FBI crime reports submitted by more than 15,000 law enforcement agencies across the United States.

Reports found that the cities of Lincoln and Rocklin ranked seventh and ninth safest cities respectively.

In 2022, the Lincoln Police Department reported there were 0.8 violent crimes per 1,000 people and 11.4 property crimes per 1,000 people, according to Safewise.

Lincoln has a population of just more than 51,000 people,

In the neighboring city of Rocklin, reports found that in 2022, there was one violent crime per 1,000 people and 16.2 property crimes per 1,000 people, according to Safewise.

Rocklin has a population of just over 73,000 people.

The City of Elk Grove made the list of Top 20 safest cities in California, ranked at number 14.

Elk Grove was found to have 2.2 violent crimes per 1,000 people and 13.4 property crimes per 1,000 people, according to Safewise.
