A line of rain and thunderstorms is expected this morning followed by improving weather this afternoon. After the wet weather today, we are expecting drier and more comfortable conditions for the rest of the week thanks to the cold front.

As for your Memorial Day, the cold front moving through the region is driving a line of rain and thunderstorms through the Carolinas with some of these storms potentially being on the severe side. The main concern with these storms is for damaging winds, but an isolated tornado can’t ruled out. The storms should clear for the most part by noon with just an isolated shower or storm expected during the afternoon. Highs today will be in the low to mid-80s.

The rest of the week will be dominated by sunshine and falling humidity for the Carolinas along with seasonal highs in the low 80s. In fact, some of the more pleasant weather that we have seen over the past few weeks is expected as our dew points are likely to fall into the 40s. There’s a small chance of a shower Friday, but other than that this upcoming week looks pretty pleasant for the region.

In the meantime, make sure you have a way to weather alerts this morning! Have a great Memorial Day and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country!
