DC police: Person shot, killed in restaurant on U Street

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police said that one person was dead after a shooting on U Street early Saturday morning.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that officers were on patrol in the 1300 block of U St. NW around 1:10 a.m. when they heard gunshots. They responded to where the shots came from, which was a restaurant in that block.

The officers found 43-year-old Kenneth Goins of Salisbury, Md., who had been shot several times, inside the restaurant. He died there.

In a post on the platform X Saturday morning, MPD said that there was a lookout for two males, one of whom was on a motorcycle.
