Pensacola man accused of killing his grandparents in February indicted for their murder

An Escambia County grand jury indicted a 24-year-old Pensacola man Friday for the alleged murder of his own grandparents on Feb. 22.

The Office of the State Attorney announced Jordon King's indictment on two counts of first-degree premeditated murder after he allegedly killed Claiborne and Andrea King at their residence on Greenbrier Boulevard.

According to King's arrest report, the medical examiner said Claiborne King had "sustained sharp force puncture wounds to his back and front torso" along with blunt force trauma. Andrea King had scratches on her neck and petechial hemorrhage in her eyes, often associated with external suffocation.

"During the scene examination a pair of scissors was in the blood pool and a hammer was found near Claiborne King's foot," the report says.

A chemical used to detect blood called Blue Star was sprayed on Jordon King's hands and feet, showing a "strong reaction" for the likely presence of blood. An additional test was conducted and yielded a positive result for blood, according to the report.

Jordon King had only been out of state prison for three months when he allegedly killed his grandparents. He was released from Florida's Department of Corrections on Nov. 29, 2023, after serving a five-year sentenced for grand theft auto and burglary.

Just a few days after his release on Dec. 5, his grandmother applied for an involuntary examination of Jordon because he was "extremely paranoid" and she "does not know what direction his mind will go."

"In that petition, Andrea King wrote, 'I don't think he would hurt me or my husband, but he did greet me at the door with knife in his hand to defend himself, and my knives are all around the house,'" the report says.

Jordon King denied to law enforcement that he had any involvement in the death of his grandparents, and he said it could have been gang members he had a "beef" with.

He remains in Escambia County Jail without bond.
