Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run; Prince George’s County police searching for vehicle involved

LAUREL, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said that a man died after a car hit him Sunday evening.

PGPD officers responded to the 9000 block of Contee Rd. around 8:10 p.m. after they received word of a crash involving a pedestrian. They found the victim in the road.

Medics took the man to the hospital where he died a short time later.

Pedestrian hit, killed in Prince George’s County

Police said that the car involved was traveling eastbound on Contee Road when it hit the pedestrian. The driver did not stay at the scene.

PGPD was working to determine the make and model of the car as well as identify whomever was driving it. Anyone with any information is asked to call (301) 731-4422.
