Palo Alto roadway flooded by damaged fire hydrant reopened

(KRON) — University Avenue in Palo Alto has reopened after being flooded by a damaged fire hydrant, according to the Palo Alto Police Department. Earlier, University was closed between Woodland Avenue and Crescent Drive.

Crews were on the scene working to repair the fire hydrant.

“Good news: crews were able to clear the roadway quickly,” Palo Alto PD tweeted. “University Avenue has re-opened in its entirety.”

No information was provided as to how the fire hydrant was damaged.
