Overnight explosion rocks Chernihiv bank
An explosion was heard at a Chernihiv bank overnight on May 6, though no casualties were reported, the State Emergency Service said.
A 140 square-meter fire broke out, though rescuers were able to extinguish it within an hour.
The building was partially destroyed in the explosion.
Three cars parked nearby were damaged.
The explosion was heard around 4:00 a.m. EET on May 6, Chernihiv Oblast Police Department reported.
Law enforcement has opened an investigation under Article 194, Part 2 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (willful destruction or endangerment of property committed by way of setting fire, explosion, or any other generally dangerous method).
The culprits face up to ten years in prison.
