Power restored for most in Huntsville after Saturday thunderstorms

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Power for most in Huntsville has been restored after a Saturday morning thunderstorm left over 2,000 people without power, according to Huntsville Utilities.

Around 11 a.m., the utility company said that just over 500 people remain without power, down from the peak of 2,748.

Huntsville Utilities said the outages are scattered across all of central Huntsville and Madison County, and were caused by trees, limbs, and other debris falling into power lines.

Huntsville Utilities said they are working as quickly as possible to restore power to the remaining people without it but don’t have an estimate as to when people will have power.
