UPDATE: Escaped inmate possibly stole van with gun inside

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — According to the Bent County Sheriff’s Office, escaped inmate Ronald Collier has ties to Colorado Springs, Greeley, and Gillette, Wyoming.

The Bent County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public that Collier should be considered armed and dangerous, and if you spot him, do not confront him, call local law enforcement immediately.

He was being held on local charges of First Degree Burglary and Third Degree Assault, and escaped the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center shortly before midnight on Thursday, April 11. Bent County Sheriff’s Office shared a surveillance photo of Collier in the clothes he was wearing at the time of his escape–black and white striped pants and an orange t-shirt.

The Baca County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said an escaped inmate identified as 38-year-old Ronald Collier possibly stole a white 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan in the overnight hours of Thursday, April 11.

According to BCSO, the van has a full tank of gas and a nine-millimeter gun inside. The van has damage to the passenger side door as well as a cracked passenger side rearview mirror.

The van has Colorado license plate BFMW09. Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

(OTERO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Otero County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), Baca County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), and La Junta Police Department (LJPD) are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in the overnight hours of Thursday, April 11.

According to OCSO, on Thursday, 38-year-old Ronald Collier of Gillette, Wyoming overpowered a deputy and a security officer and left the hospital wearing a black and white striped jumpsuit and handcuffs.

Law Enforcement is searching the area for Collier.
