Oshkosh Public Museum offers free admission when you donate food, hygiene items in April

OSHKOSH ― Oshkosh Public Museum, as part of a new “Making Hungry History” campaign, is hosting a food drive in April to benefit Oshkosh Area Community Pantry.

Throughout the month, museum visitors can contribute new, unopened, and non-perishable food and hygiene items in exchange for free admission.

“We are grateful for the support of the Oshkosh Public Museum and the community as we work towards our mission of eliminating food insecurity in Oshkosh,” said Ryan Rasmussen, Oshkosh Area Community Pantry executive director.

“Events like these not only provide much-needed resources but also raise awareness about the issue of food insecurity and inspire others to get involved.”

The initiative, which runs through April 30, aims to raise awareness about food insecurity in Oshkosh.

OPM will also host an interactive discussion with Associate Professor of History and Interim Chairman of Social Work at UW-Oshkosh Dr. Gabriel Loiacono at the museum starting at 6 p.m. April 18.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry to tackle the issue of hunger in our community,” OPM Director Sarah Phillips said.

“By coming together through these initiatives, we can make a real impact and help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.”
