Opinions wanted, ice cream offered: DeLand sweetens the deal for input on city plans

The City of DeLand wants feedback on future growth and development from residents - and it hopes to make it more fun by serving ice cream at an open house.

The gathering which is billed as a kind of town hall social will take place Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall located at 120 S. Florida Ave.

According to Chris Graham, a spokesman for the city, the planning department is seeking input from citizens on proposed changes to DeLand's Comprehensive Plan as well as its updated 2050 Vision Plan.

The Comprehensive Plan serves as a guide for future growth and development in DeLand while the 2050 Vision Plan outlines the City's long-term goals and priorities, providing a roadmap for future development and decision-making.

During the open house, planning staff will be available to answer questions and gather feedback from attendees. The information gathered from this event will be posted on the city's website for further public comment and feedback.
