Suspect arrested in connection with deadly March 16 shooting in Lafayette

UPDATE: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Lafayette Police Department arrested Tyrone Ned of Lafayette in connection with the shooting.

Ned is charged with one count of second degree murder.

ORIGINAL: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — One man is dead after an early morning shooting in Lafayette, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

LPD said they responded to the 600 block of Patterson Street in Lafayette around 12:55 a.m. in regards to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers said they located one male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Ian Bouton, 29, of Lafayette.

This incident remains under investigation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
