Callaway's 254-mph Sledgehammer Corvette might've taken the spotlight for the tuner company back in the late 1980s, but it wasn't the only wild C4-generation car it designed. Enter the Callaway Speedster.
This Corvette Callaway Speedster, which popped up for sale in Houston, Texas recently, is said to be the eighth produced out of ten in existence. In addition to the Sledgehammer body styling, the Speedster features a cut windshield, open roof, and a modified rear greenhouse setup. According to Bring a Trailer, the Callaway-rebuilt twin-turbo V8 produces 345 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.
Aside from a few wrinkles on the seats, the striking turquoise interior seems to be in pretty good condition. The same can be said for the silver paint and correct five-spoke OZ Racing wheels.
Back in 2009, this exact car was sold at Mecum for $115,000. Fast-forward eight years later, Speedster number eight is now being sold by used car dealer Auto Dynamics with an asking price of $159,899. No mileage is listed, but judging by this car's rarity, we're guessing it's on the low side.
These cars are exceedingly rare (and very cool), so while the price may be high, we have a feeling this car won't be for sale for long.
