Okaloosa County medical staff save 3-year-old who was unresponsive for an hour
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A 3-year-old found unresponsive in a swimming pool was saved by medical staff Saturday, according to a Facebook post from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The post said a child was unresponsive in a pool on Saturday at a Crestview home. The child was pulled from the water, where an off-duty EMT reportedly performed life-saving measures until OCSO and Okaloosa County EMS arrived.
The child was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center by OCEMS, according to the post.
“Upon arrival at NOMC an amazing group of medical staff and Med Flight nurses administered life-saving efforts and medical intervention,” the post said.
After an hour of being unresponsive, the child finally regained their pulse. They were stabilized and flown to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

“Outstanding work by every hand that touched the child after such a tragic accident. In all my years, I have never seen such a large group of medical professionals work so seamless and diligent for such a long period of time without ever losing hope or will,” said Okaloosa County Lt. Tony Kelly.
