Ohio woman dies in crash in Ash Township

ASH TWP. — An Ohio woman died and her three passengers were injured Saturday when the car she was driving collided with a pickup on North Telegraph Road.

Troopers from the Monroe Post were dispatched at about 7:10 p.m. to the area of North Telegraph Road near Indian Trail Road for a two-car, injury traffic crash, a news release from the post said. Witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated a 2022 Toyota Camry, driven by a 53-year-old woman from Toledo, was traveling south on North Telegraph Road. She then lost control of the vehicle, crossing over the center line into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado traveling north on North Telegraph Road driven by a 28-year-old man from Monroe.

The driver of the Camry was pronounced deceased at the scene, the release said. The driver of the Silverado, as well as the three passengers in the Camry, were transported by Monroe Community Ambulance to to Corewell Health Trenton Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, the release said.
