Northeast Albuquerque watering hole closed after fire, unknown when it will reopen

Apr. 8—A Northeast Albuquerque tavern is closed until further notice after being damaged by a fire on Monday.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a call of a commercial structure fire at Dragonhorn Tavern on the 2900 block of Juan Tabo, near Candelaria.

According to an AFR Facebook post, employees reported smoke inside the building and heat coming from an interior wall. AFR arrived and went to the back of the building where there was an outside fire. Firefighters opened a wall where a previous fire took place that "revealed a smoldering fire."

According to AFR, crews shut off the power due to damaged wires from the fire then assisted with ventilating the structure.

No one was injured and Dragonhorn Tavern will be closed until repairs can be made, the Facebook post states.
