North Little Rock police arrest man suspected in deadly April Locust Street shooting, additional arrests expected

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police said one man was arrested in connection to a recent North Little Rock shooting death, with more arrests expected.

Officials with the North Little Rock Police Department said 28-year-old Roderick Fondren was arrested and is now facing charges in connection with the April 18 shooting death of 29-year-old Deonte Lambert in the 1700 block of Locust Street.

Investigators said Fondren was identified as a suspect on the day of the shooting. He was initially arrested on unrelated charges on April 24, which led to his being interviewed by NLRPD detectives.

Authorities said Fondren faces charges of first-degree murder and possession of firearms by certain persons from the shooting. Records show Fondren is being held without bond in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
