North Carolina man arrested, accused of attempted murder and burglary in Myrtle Beach area

A man from North Carolina has been arrested for an attempted murder and burglary in the Little River area, police reports showed.

John McCray, 45, allegedly forced himself into a home along Grizzly Road and then shot at a man inside early morning on April 15, according to the police reports. The victim was hit multiple times in his right arm and shoulder by gunfire and was transported to the Grand Strand Medical Center.

The Clarendon man was arrested on April 17 and was brought to J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He is being held without bail and was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and first degree burglary.
