Niagara Falls Planning Board approves county’s first Chick-fil-A

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — With a unanimous 8-0 vote, a new Chick-fil-A in Niagara Falls has been given the green light by the city’s Planning Board.

The plan calls for a new restaurant at the intersection of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Fashion Outlets Boulevard, just southwest of the mall. The 5,000-square-foot facility would also include a double-lane drive-thru and an outdoor patio.

During Wednesday’s Niagara Falls Planning Board meeting, members approved the proposed restaurant, setting the table for what would be Niagara County’s first-ever Chick-fil-A.

Chick-fil-A, headquartered in Georgia, established its first free-standing restaurant in Atlanta in 1986. It wasn’t until 2018 that one came close to Western New York when a restaurant opened in the Rochester area.

Since then, three have opened up in Erie County, in Cheektowaga, Depew and Hamburg.
