Niagara Falls man sentenced on child pornography charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara Falls man previously convicted of child sexual abuse was sentenced to serve over 15 years in prison for a new child pornography charge, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Officials said Albert Smith, 40, was sentenced in connection with a search warrant of his residence in 2021. Investigators seized two cell phones and another electronic device in his residence that altogether contained over 300 images and 25 videos of child pornography. The images included depictions of the sexual abuse of an infant or toddler and images of children less than 12 years old.

In 2003, Smith received a separate conviction of second-degree sexual abuse: sexual contact with a person less than 14 years old.
