EF-1 winds are 86-110 mph.

Tina Hoffman, vice president of corporate communications for MidAmerican Energy, tells Our Quad Cities News that MidAmerican crews have made great progress since the severe storms passed across the territory this morning, restoring more than 39,000 customers across the service area.

Local crews continue their work and crews from surrounding states in the Midwest and as far away as Texas are on their way to support the restoration. As of 3:30 p.m. Friday, MidAmerican had about 9,100 customers waiting to have power restored.

“We expect to continue making progress throughout the day and overnight, with the majority of the remaining customers restored by noon tomorrow, and all customers restored by tomorrow at midnight,” Hoffman said. “We appreciate our customers’ patience as we work hard to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.”
