MPD: Woman hits person with meat tenderizer during burglary

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it arrested a woman on Monday for a burglary that happened in Southeast D.C.

MPD said the suspect, 31-year-old Brittany Johnson of Southeast D.C., forced entry into someone’s home in the 3500 block of Stanton Rd. SE just after 5 a.m. Once inside, she destroyed the person’s property and hit them multiple times with a metal meat tenderizer.

She then fled the scene.

Johnson was arrested later that day and charged with Burglary One. Detectives say the suspect and victim knew each other.
