MDOT’s roadside parks to open for the season Monday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Most of Michigan’s roadside parks will reopen for the season next week.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says its parks will open on Monday, April 29.

The department maintains 85 roadside parks in all. Eight of them will remain closed due to maintenance projects or nearby construction work, including Burlington Roadside Park on M-60 in Calhoun County and the High Rollway Roadside Park and White River Roadside Park in Newaygo County.

MDOT says drinking water will not be turned on at most parks until later in May after all systems can be tested and treated.

You can find a full list and map of MDOT’s roadside parks on the department’s website.
