NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police are actively investigating the deaths of two 63-year-old men who were found dead in an apartment in the Hunter’s Square area of Norfolk Tuesday night.

Police say these deaths are classified as undetermined and the medical examiner’s office will determine the official manner and cause of death.

The unidentified men were found around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Goff Street in the Hunter’s Square Apartments area off of Tidewater Drive. Police arrived at the scene to find the two men unconscious, and they were later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

No other details in the case have been released at this time.

“And they were both found dead and no one knows if it was malicious intent? Most definitely alarming,” said Keon Knuckles. “That does worry me a lot.”

Knuckles said his girlfriend lives in a neighboring apartment. When he visits, he said he often hears shouting among neighbors at the complex, and sometimes much worse.

“There was a shooting like, last week,” Knuckles said. “My girl was taking her son to the bus stop and, while the kids were outside, there was shooting in the middle of the complex over there. Yeah, it’s kind of wild out here. … [Do police come here often?] Not as often as they should.”

Police are not releasing the names of the victims yet. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death once they finish their investigation. Police said they do not suspect foul play.
