Man seriously injured when car hydroplanes in northern Kansas

KANSAS (KSNW) — A man was seriously injured after his car hydroplaned and crashed in northern Kansas Sunday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, just before 6 p.m., a 69-year-old man from Long Island was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox east on U.S. Route 36 in Norton.

The KHP says the car hydroplaned, causing the driver to lose control. The car then entered the ditch to the north and hit a culvert.

The driver was taken with suspected serious injuries to an area hospital.

This was not the only crash the KHP reported due to slick roads on Sunday. Two other hydroplaning crashes happened in Chase County and Sumner County. Those drivers received minor to no injuries.
