BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 32-year-old man found guilty of transporting fentanyl for sale and other drug-related offenses faces up to six years and six months prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Joe Wayne Young III was arrested Jan. 4, 2022, during a probation check in Oildale, prosecutors said in a release.
Officers detained Young after seeing a 30-round Glock magazine in his vehicle, the release says. A K-9 indicated drugs were in the vehicle, and a search turned up a camouflage backpack containing plastic baggies with fentanyl inside and a digital scale with white residue, prosecutors said.
A small amount of methamphetamine, two Glock handguns and drug paraphernalia were found during a search of Young’s bedroom, according to the release.
Sentencing is scheduled May 1.
