Man found dead in Beckley, identity unknown

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The dead body of an unidentified man was found in the Beckley area of Raleigh County on Monday April 8, 2024.

The body was found on Cherokee Street in Beckley around 4:20 PM.

West Virginia State Police investigators sent the body discovered in Beckley on Monday to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified, an official with the West Virginia State Police-Beckley detachment confirmed to 59News on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

UPDATE: Teenage girl reported missing in Raleigh County

The Medical Examiner’s Office will also identify the cause and manner of death.

State Police officials said on Tuesday that no wounds were immediately visible on the body, due to decomposition.
