Man found dead after 911 calls report gunfire outside local apartment
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Multiple 911 calls to Akron police early Wednesday morning reported gunfire outside of a local apartment.
The calls came in at about 4:15 a.m.

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner, when first responders arrived on the scene in the 1900 block of Newton Street they found a 20-year-old man lying on the ground in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:40 a.m., according to officials.
According to the SUmmit County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim has been identified as Alexander Ford, a 20-year-old from Akron.
A second victim, a 58-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Wednesday morning news release.
A preliminary investigation suggests a suspect fired multiple shots at the victims while they were in a parked car, according to the release. Police recovered dozens of shell casings from the scene.
