Man dead, woman wounded after shooting in Hollygrove neighborhood
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A shooting in the Hollygrove neighborhood left a man dead and a woman hospitalized, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Around 8:53 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, NOPD officers said they responded to a call of a shooting at the corner of Apple and Monroe streets.
Upon arrival, they found a man lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to NOPD officers, a woman also suffered gunshot wounds to her arm during the incident but was taken to a hospital by car and listed in stable condition.
No further information is available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
