Man Arrested Over Child Abuse Offenses After Allegedly Exploiting US Teen

A New South Wales man was arrested and charged on Monday, March 25, with a number of alleged child abuse offences involving a US teenager.

New South Wales police said in a statement that detectives “commenced an investigation into a man from the Mid North Coast” after being tipped off by the New Jersey State Police in the US.

Investigators arrested a 39-year-old man in Taree around 9:40 am on Monday.

According to police, the man is suspected of using social media since January 2024 “to procure a 13-year-old female outside of Australia to engage in sexual activity.”
