Man arrested after argument leads to shooting in Montvale, deputies searching for victim

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says a man from Pennsylvania is in custody after an argument escalated to a shooting in Montvale on April 26.

Just after midnight on Friday, deputies responded to the 1000 block of Ira Drive, for a shooting. Throughout the investigation, deputies learned that Kulpreet Singh, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, was allegedly involved in an argument with Collin Walker inside the home. The argument escalated and Singh allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at Walker multiple times.

The Sheriff’s Office says Walker left the scene before authorities arrived. He then texted his girlfriend and told her he was shot and was going to the hospital. However, his whereabouts are currently unknown.

Singh was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and reckless handling of a firearm.

“There is no danger to the public. This is an isolated incident between these two individuals, so there is no need to be concerned or panic. We urge our victim to please seek medical attention,” said Lt. Robert Arney.
