Memorial Day on May 27 is quickly approaching, and while many of you have the day off from work and can enjoy a three-day weekend, other businesses will follow suit.

Here are some reminders about what businesses are open and closed on Memorial Day in 2024.

Is the post office open on Memorial Day?

The U.S. Postal Service closes for 11 federal holidays, including Memorial Day. The Postal Service will not deliver regular packages or mail on the holiday, but some services, like those online, are available every day of the year, according to the Postal Service's website.

Is FedEx open on Memorial Day?

Most of FedEx’s services will be unavailable on Memorial Day, according to the company.

FedEx Custom Critical, which runs every day of the year, will still be available. FedEx Office hours will be modified.

Is UPS open on Memorial Day?

UPS delivery and pickup services will not be operational on Memorial Day, according to the UPS website.

UPS Store locations may be closed, so you’ll need to check your nearest location’s hours. UPS Express Critical is available every day of the year. Call (800) 714-8779 or visit upsexpresscritical.com.

Are banks open on Memorial Day?

Walmart stores will be open during regular hours on Memorial Day, but it doesn’t hurt to check with your nearest location before heading out.
