MAFS Australia airs shocking allegation for Jono and past bride

Married at First Sight Australia spoilers follow.

Married at First Sight Australia has aired a shocking allegation involving Jonathan McCullough and past bride Ellie Dix.

Monday's (April 22) commitment ceremony sparked trouble for Jonathan and wife Lauren, as Tori revealed she had heard that Jono had been messaging Ellie behind Lauren's back.

Lauren felt "hurt and betrayed" by her husband's actions and revealed her intentions of getting to the bottom of Jono's communication with Ellie.

Tonight, Lauren was left unimpressed after reading through Jono's conversations with Ellie, deeming their relationship "inappropriate."

"These aren't just relaying information that has happened the night before, this is more than that, and my stomach kind of dropped," Lauren explained.

Later, as the other couples began arriving for the final dinner party of the series, Lauren entered on her own and revealed to the group that Jono and Ellie had exchanged over 100 messages.

"That's a relationship," said a shocked Mel Schilling as the experts watched on, with Alessandra Rampolla adding: "That's certainly a really, really close friendship that his spouse should know about."

At the dinner table, Jono explained to the group that he had initiated the conversations with Ellie and not the other way around — like he'd previously stated.

When asked how he felt about Ellie, Jono assured the group that there's "nothing going on" between them, before Tori dropped a bombshell that shocked the cast.

"Jack brought me some info that you were, like, 'Yeah, I would've loved to be with Ellie'," she revealed, with Jono explaining that he made the comment during an argument with Lauren.

"I came in, and I felt like I was going to give him a chance and not throw him under the bus, and now it's embarrassing," explained Lauren, while Jono said: "I 100% think this has been blown out of proportion."

Can the couple work things out before the final vows?
