Love Island star Sophie Piper has provided an update on her relationship with Josh Ritchie, revealing that they are “taking it slow”.

The pair coupled up during the inaugural series of spin-off show Love Island: All Stars, which saw past contestants return to the villa for another shot at finding love.

The couple eventually finished in third place after the results of the public vote, and subsequently went official following their stint on the series.

“We won't be moving in together or anything yet,” Sophie told OK Magazine. “We're taking things slow. He's in Manchester and I'm in London but we're still managing to see each other and we always say that it's nice to miss each other.”

“Me and Josh are really good, I feel like we're the two people who least expected it to turn out the way it has, but yeah, we're really happy,” she added, before talking about her second experience of Love Island.

“This time I had more fun. I think because I was older, I was more confident this time around. Last time, I was very in my own shell and a bit scared to speak up, so it was nice going on as I am now and so that the public could see that.”

The All Stars series was eventually won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare, who pipped Jess Gale and Callum Smith to the title. Several fans remarked that Molly and her ex Callum should get back together, with Tom subsequently commenting on the messages.

“I've come out and I've seen a lot of messages that say Molly and Callum should get back together and it's shit to see, but in the villa, there was no sign of it,” he remarked. “If there had been an inkling, if there was flirting, I would have addressed it but there was nothing at all.”

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
