Loranger man killed in Tangipahoa Parish crash

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a Loranger man dead in Tangipahoa Parish on Tuesday, April 30.

The LSP reported the crash happened on Louisiana Highway 40 near Deerfield Loop around 10 p.m.

They said an initial investigation shows 59-year-old George Robinson was driving a Nissan north on Louisiana Highway 40 when it drove of the road and flipped.

Robinson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the LSP, he was unrestrained at the time of the crash.

Two passengers in the Nissan suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
