A look at contested races in Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary in Bucks County

Tuesday’s primary in Pennsylvania will give voters across the state a chance to vote for the Republican and Democratic nominees for President, Congress and a number of other statewide and local races.

In addition to the national races and state row offices on the ballot this year, Republican voters will be selecting committee members across the county while both the GOP and Democrats will vote on delegates for their respective national conventions.

A complete list of 2024 candidates and copies of sample ballots are available at the county’s Board of Elections website at www.buckscounty.gov.

Polls open across Bucks County from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 23.

Who’s running for President?

In the presidential race, President Joe Biden is running against Congressman Dean Phillips from Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District for the Democrats. Former President Donald Trump is running against former South Carolina Governor and United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley.

Who’s running for U.S. Senate?

Incumbent Bob Casey faces William Parker for the Democratic ballot spot in the race for U.S. Senate. Republicans Dave McCormick, Brandi Tomasetti and Joseph J. Vodvarka vie for the GOP ballot in the Nov. 5 General Election.

Who’s running for Congress in Bucks County?

Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District in Bucks County has incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick facing off against fellow Republican Mark Houck , while returning Democratic challenger Ashley Ehasz runs unopposed on her party’s ballot.

Who’s running for statewide offices?

The race for Pennsylvania’s next Attorney General is contested for both parties, with a five-way split among Democrats. AG Michelle Henry is not running for re-election.

The Democrats have Jack Stollsteimer, of Haverford Township, Delaware County; Eugene DePasquale, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County; Joe Kahn, Doylestown, Bucks County; Keir Bradford-Grey and Jared Solomon, both of Philadelphia.

Dave Sunday, of Spring Garden Township in York County, and Craig Williams, Concord Township, Delaware County, are running for the Republican nomination.

In Bucks County, every state House district is on the ballot this year with a single candidate running for each party except for District 31, where incumbent Rep. Perry Warren runs unopposed as a Democrat with no apparent Republican nominee.

Only odd-numbered state Senate districts are on the ballot this year, but Bucks County is made up of only even-numbered districts.
